Dear Pastors and Members of The Church of God across the State of Tennessee; I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how thankful I am for each one! The Apostle Paul had this to say to the church at Ephesus; “Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;” Ephesians 1:15-16.

I, too, feel this way toward you and your faithful labors for Christ and His Church. All the wonderful reports across the state are because of your labors. We are engaged in such a great and exciting work where the rewards are out of this world. As we go into a new church year let us stay focused on what the will of the Lord is in the hour that we are living in.

Our theme for this years convention is "The Church, The Pillar and Ground of the Truth" from 1 Timothy 3:15, "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth." We, as The Church of God have a great responsibility that has been given to us to uphold His truth. The word pillar means to support, we are to be those strong pillars living and preaching God's truth. We cannot alter it, we cannot water it down but it must be the pure word of God.

I pray that during this convention every member of the The Church of God in Tennessee becomes strengthened and encouraged as we go away from this convention. We have a great world to reach and we want to be obedient to God's task that He has given us to win the lost!
